Motorcycle

24/10/2025

It happened. This summer, I bought my first motorcycle.

I've always dreamed of having my own motorcycle.

As usual, everything around it was a challenge: lack of permissions (‘why bother, it’s so dangerous’, my parents said), lack of time, funds that always found more ‘reasonable’ uses.

But in the end, at the age of 47, I made it.

Someone might write: 'midlife crisis'.

Maybe. But I'd call it something else - realizing my priorities.

Understanding that dreams are not meant to be put on hold.

When we're young, everything seems possible - just not 'right now'. There'll be time later, a moment will come, I'll have time. And then...

Then comes work, home, family, loans, responsibilities - and at some point you realize that there is no “later” anymore.

That “someday” is actually today.

Some call it a crisis, but I prefer to say it's a revival.

My First Motorcycle

To start with, perfect. The Zontes C 125 - a lightweight, modern naked bike with a bit of edge.

Not too powerful, but enough to feel freedom, the wind, and joy from riding.

With an engine that responds to every movement of the throttle grip, handling that gives you confidence, and a look that draws the eye.

For me, it's the fulfillment of a dream in its most tangible form.

Riding - more than just getting from A to B

It's not just about the machine. It's about the state of mind.

When I ride, the world slows down.

No phone, no to-do list, no thoughts of work.

There's just the road, the sound of the engine and the scent of the forest.

Every corner demands full attention, and every acceleration gives a rush of endorphins.

It's something between meditation and adventure - a pure reset for the mind.

Riding a motorcycle on forest roads, surrounded by the scent of pine needles, the song of birds, and rays of sunlight breaking through the trees… it's a different experience than any car ride.

In a car, you're separated from the world by glass, metal, and air conditioning.

On a motorcycle you are part of the road, the air and the moment.

That feeling can't be described - it just has to be experienced.

And all of this was possible thanks to my wife - who exceeded my expectations, took me to the seller herself and helped me choose the motorcycle.

Without her support, I probably would still just be ‘thinking about buying one someday’.

So, my friends - see you on the road!
